Cranbury, NJ (November 2000) – Songbird Hearing Inc., manufacturer of the world’s first disposable hearing aid, has been named Consumer Technology Company of the Year by a leading technology association.
The award, sponsored by the New Jersey Technology Council (NJTC), honors the most highly regarded companies in New Jersey.

The Songbird Disposable Hearing Aid is specifically designed to treat the millions of Americans, particularly baby boomers, who have mild-to-moderate hearing loss resulting from life-long exposure to decibel-blasting music and other forms of noise pollution.

The company was formed in 1997 to develop a line of disposable hearing aids based on highly proprietary technologies exclusively licensed from the Sarnoff Corporation (formerly RCA Labs).
