Let’s face it, hearing aids can be hard work, and when you pay that kind of money it gets really frustrating when they don’t produce the results expected. A lot of consumers like the one above come to us begrudgingly, not really sure if we will work either, yet feeling out of options and out of patience.

The above line (altered slightly) is from Jack Nicholson’s famous rant in “A Few Good Men”. The line has always held a lot of parallel’s for me with what I think is Songbird’s real place in the industry. At no time has this been more apparent to me than it is now.

A lot of people with hearing loss only feel the need for hearing help in certain situations. While those situations are sometimes really important to them, like worship services or family gatherings, they just can’t see themselves spending thousands of dollars on a “hearing aid” they don’t really feel like they need or are mentally ready for.
