Your Songbird 400 Hour is disposable. Just like disposable contact lenses,
it is designed to be worn for a certain period of time and then thrown
away. In particular, the tip and built-in battery are designed to provide
up to 400 hours or 90 days of better hearing, whichever comes first. And
when your Songbird runs out, you simply replace it with a new one.
The number of days your Songbird will last depends primarily on how
often you use it:
The battery of each Songbird hearing aid dries out with exposure to
air. This means that if you wear your Songbird 400 Hour for less than
4 hours each day, the battery will stop working before you reach 400
hours of use (generally in about 90 days).
The lifespan of your Songbird will also be shortened by some other
conditions including:
Leaving the hearing aid on when
not in use
Long-term exposure to extremes
in temperature, very high or very low humidity levels, or high altitudes
Long-term use in a noisy environment
Never use your Songbird for more than 90 days, as the buildup of wax
and other debris, as well as wear and tear on the tip may reduce the
sound quality of your hearing aid, or increase the incidence of feedback.
When not in use, you should store your hearing aid in the case provided
at room temperature.
